Situated about half way between
Australia and Hawaii, the Marshall Islands comprise over
1220 islands split into two parallel chains - Ratak and
Ralik. Travellers are drawn to the islands due to its
stunning dive locations, a combination of WWII wrecks
and a multitude of fish and coral species.
The US did its best to further mankind by blitzing
several of the islands, in particular Bikini Atoll,
leading to radiation poisoning of the local population.
While these islands still cannot be lived on,
Bikini Atoll is a huge draw for WWII dive enthusiasts,
with planes, submarines and battleships scattered
around.
