Victoria

The Great Ocean Road, Victoria

Victoria is Australia's second smallest state, roughly about the size of Britain, however you will find a broad range of landscapes of snowy mountains, sprawling wineries, national parks teeming with wildlife, rugged coastline and gorgeous beaches.   The capital, Melbourne, is just as diverse in the cultural sense with a population borne from large-scale immigration over the last 150 years.

Melbourne is oft-quoted as 'the world's most liveable city' and it is easy to see why with its bustling city centre surrounding by parks, great shopping, passion for food and drink, impressive nineteenth century and modern architecture and its proximity to many of Victoria's finest locations.   Head to Federation Square ('Fed Square') for its striking modern architecture and visitor information centre.   Just opposite the old contrasts with the new with Flinders St Station, completed in 1910.   There is definitely something for everyone in Melbourne with the city and its surrounding suburbs each with their own unique character.   >> More
