South Australia

© South Australian Tourism Commission

South Australia is the home of the great wine regions of Australia and has some spectacular coastal scenery and rugged mountain landscapes at the Flinders Ranges.

Adelaide has set itself up to be the wine and festival capital of Australia and is incredibly well designed by the foresighted Colonel William Light in 1836.   Every two years the city gets taken over by the Adelaide Festival of Arts and Festival Fringe, up there with Edinburgh and Montreal.   Take a trip along the sandy coastline where certain cruises take you swimming with the dolphins.   Cricket aficionados can get their fill of The Bradman Collection at the State Library.   The city centre is surrounded by parkland, so if the hustle and bustle jades you, a short walk allows you to relax in some fantastic tropical and Mediterranean plant displays.   >> More
