Like ice? 85% of Greenland is covered by an ice sheet reaching 3km thick in places. And if you can handle the cold, you’ll be rewarded by a stunning landscape of towering icebergs, blue ice caves and aurora borealis (the northern lights).

Islanders make full use of the natural resources at their disposal and their outdoor activities are a must: dogsled racing, skiing, ice golf, kayaking, glacier trekking, not to mention the opportunities for fishing.

You can whale watch from your hotel room, but it’s better by boat, see seals, reindeer and maybe even the polar bears who live in the north and east.
